INFO: "What’s Behind Windows 8" – October 2011 Edition of Maximum PC Magazine

clip_image001I thought some of you might be interested in this article “What’s Behind Windows 8” from Maximum PC magazine.

This is pre-“BUILD CONFERENCE” so there have been things announced/confirmed since this magazine went to print, however there’s a long list of capabilities that have been purported to have been uncovered in leaked builds of Windows 8.  I honestly don’t know if any of the unconfirmed features are in Windows 8 however a few were in fact confirmed at BUILD and in the Windows Developer Preview that was released to the public.

The article is broken down into two categories:

  • “What we know for sure”
  • “What we predict” (based on leaked builds)

The “What we predict” section talks about a lonnnnng list of features & their projected probability of it remaining in the product, such as:

  • ISO Mounting (since confirmed on Building Windows blog)
