So Virtual PC 2007 got it’s service pack the other day.
Why apply Service Pack 1?

- VPC is free. No licensing required.
- VPC uses the .VHD virtual machine file format. .VHD files are the same files used by Virtual Server 2005 R2 and Windows Server Hyper-V.
- All Microsoft products are being made available in VPC-compatible .VHD files for ‘testing’ or ‘trial’ to minimize the need for installation time. For example:
- IE App Compat VHD – VPC Hard Disk Image for testing websites on IE on Windows XP SP2
- Windows Vista – This download enables you evaluate Microsoft Windows Vista.
- Windows Server 2003 R2 VHD – This download comes as a pre-configured VHD and helps you evaluate the new features of Windows Server 2003 R2.
- Office SharePoint Server 2007 VHD – This download enables you evaluate Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.
