INFO: Why does Windows Server 2008 RTM say SP1?

Perhaps you have noticed when you install Windows Server 2008 and check the version level, you get this:

The answer is:  because the code trees have been merged – Vista SP1 and WS08.    This provides a single worldwide servicing tree, which is a good thing.
