INFO: Internet Explorer 7.0 rated as having #1 ranked Antiphishing technology

3Sharp did an evalation of the antiphishing technologies in Internet Explorer 7.0, Firefox/Google, Netcraft, eBay, Earthlink, GeoTrust, Netscape, and McAfee.

Here’s the rankings and the associated ratings (based on both accuracy as well as false positives):

  1. 172 Internet Explorer 7.0 (Beta 3)
  2. 168 Netcraft Toolbar
  3. 106 Firefox/Google
  4. 92 eBay Toolbar
  5. 76 Earthlink ScamBlocker
  6. 67 GeoTrust Trustwatch
  7. 56 Netscape 8.1
  8. 3 McAfee SiteAdvisor  (Yes "3" and that’s not a typo)

What does this mean?  Well, if you’ve got parents that use a computer and you want to ensure that they don’t get lured into phishing sites and the like, Internet Explorer 7.0 is a great upgrade for their browsing experience that’s free and does the best job available on the market today.
