RTW: MSN Desktop Suite and MSN Search Tool goes live!

Today the MSN Search team reached an important milestone with the launch of the MSN Search Toolbar with Windows Desktop Search. The MSN Search Toolbar, available only in the US* at http://desktop.msn.com, now offers:

  • The most integrated desktop search capabilities for Windows, enabling you to search your PC virtually as fast as you can search the Web.  Find and retrieve documents, e-mail, images, video and more on your PC, from Windows – through Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer and from Microsoft Outlook. You can search more than 200 file types, including email attachments for fast, precise data retrieval. And, your results will be useful and actionable because of powerful filtering and sorting capabilities.
  • Smarter browsing and searching by eliminating the hassles of browsing the Web and helping you find what you need fast. The MSN Search Toolbar offers time-saving tools including Pop-up Blocker and Form Fill, which lets you fill out online forms with one click. Soon, integrated Tabbed Browsing will give you one-click access to your favorite sites in the same window, streamlining everyday activities and enabling you to save commonly visited sites into automatic “routines” that can be opened simultaneously.

  • One-click access to and rich interaction with MSN services, including MSN Web Search, MSN Messenger, MSN Hotmail, and MSN Spaces, enabling you to conveniently search the Web and initiate common communication tasks right from the toolbar.
