HP Simplifies Management of HP Servers for MOM 2005 Customers
HP has introduced new solutions that simplify the management of HP servers and Windows® resources using Microsoft® Operations Manager 2005 (MOM 2005).  The HP ProLiant and Integrity Management Packs for MOM 2005 integrate comprehensive policies, groups and rules that complement and extend MOM 2005, automating the discovery and monitoring of ProLiant and Integrity server configurations and resources. The HP ProLiant Management Pack and the HP Integrity Management Pack integrate hardware resource management into MOM 2005 and provide the following functionality:

Automated Installation and Discovery

• Fully scripted installation that creates HP specific groups and copies HP rules, scripts, views, tasks and knowledge base data to the MOM 2005 database
• Automatic discovery and grouping of HP ProLiant and Integrity servers by server family and platform type

Monitor HP Server Hardware in MOM 

• State monitoring for HP hardware subsystems and management software components 
• Predefined rules to process and clearly display Windows Event Log entries for HP server hardware alerts in the MOM 2005 Operator Console 
• Views for HP servers that display a comprehensive collection system attributes that include
• CPU type, total memory, available hard drive storage, firmware revisions and the version of installed Insight Management Agents 
• HP servers clearly represented in the MOM Diagram View

Access HP Resource Management Tools 

• Built-in tasks to launch HP Systems Insight Manager, the HP System Management Homepage and HP Management Processors from the MOM 2005 Operator Console
